Jack is exploring all the changes
Walls are coming down.
This place is almost unrecognizable!

Looking from my bedroom out the back door. The pantry is gone.
All the cabinets are gone and demolition has begun.
This wall should come out tomorrow. Behind it was the bathroom...now gone.
Standing at the back door, looking into my bedroom.
From the kitchen looking into what used to be the pantry. Things are really picking up...or coming down so to speak!

2/16/10 - The cabinets are gone! The walls are next!

2/15/10 - Praying the granite comes out in one piece...tomorrow!
2/15/10 - The upper kitchen cabinets have been removed and the rest go tomorrow!
2/15/10 - We have cement!

Sadness :-( rain is preventing the concrete pour. It's Friday 2/12/10 and now we have to wait until Monday for this to happen.
Preparation for the cement was perfect and another inspection passed. Now for the cement!
This box contains the oven cabinet and it was too big to fit through the hall to my bedroom so it is now sitting in the dining room. One other box wouldn't even fit in the door and had to be stored somewhere else!
I now have 30+ boxes in my bedroom. Our kitchen cabinets arrived before we were ready and instead of paying $15/day for storage I moved out of my bedroom and made room for storage!
Getting ready for cement!
A different view
Plumbing is in place and the inspection passed!
We have liftoff! We broke ground Wednesday February 3.

The Beginning

This is the beginning...well not really but this is the first picture of the back yard, pre-construction. This process started in Aug. 08 when my sister Barbara decided to sell her house and move in with me and I thought it was a great idea. It is now February 2010 and we are finally under construction. We had no idea how much work this was going to be but we both know it will be worth it.
